ESET endpoint anti virus diagnostic file fills hard drive.

Sometimes you may find that the diagnostic file for ESET becomes very large and in more extreme cases can begin to take a considerable percentage of hard drive space. The diagnostic file can be found in the following location (unless otherwise specified):

C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET Endpoint Antivirus\Diagnostics\

This is due to ESET running diagnostic tests and saving the results to rather large dump files. Should space consumption become a problem, this functionality can be turned off by following the steps below:

  • Open the local ESET client

  • Select OK and exit the advanced setup window. ESET will no longer generate memory dumps and any previous dumps are safe to delete.
