Sometimes you may find that the diagnostic file for ESET becomes very large and in more extreme cases can begin to take a considerable percentage of hard drive space. The diagnostic file can be found in the following location (unless otherwise specified):
C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET Endpoint Antivirus\Diagnostics\
This is due to ESET running diagnostic tests and saving the results to rather large dump files. Should space consumption become a problem, this functionality can be turned off by following the steps below:
- Open the local ESET client
- Press F5 to open the advanced setup panel.
- From the dropdown menu's to the left, Navigate to Tools - Diagnostics as shown in the image above. Now Select dump type and from the dropdown menu select "Do not generate memory dump"
- Select OK and exit the advanced setup window. ESET will no longer generate memory dumps and any previous dumps are safe to delete.
